Administrative history:
The Anchorage Community College Guild began its unnamed existence as an Anchorage Community Theatre workshop series at ACC in 1959. In 1968, the Anchorage Community Theatre Guild officially broke away from ACT to put on performances under its own name. The group became the Anchorage Community College Guild in 1972. F. Kenneth Freedman was an instructor at ACC who was heavily involved in show production at that time. When the University of Alaska Anchorage began forming its own theatre department in 1976, the ACC Guild became the Theatre Guild. The Theatre Guild ceased to produce shows in 1990.

Agency functions:
The Anchorage Community College Guild existed to use local actors to put on public theatrical performances. While auditions were open to the public, the ACC Guild frequently used ACC students in its performances.
