Administrative history:
The Student Showcase program was begun in 1985 by Dr. Sharon Araji of the Sociology Department. By 2000, the event was organized by a committee representing many of the academic departments at UAA.

The Showcase conferences were originally designed to build ties between students, faculty, and administrators and to highlight student research efforts.
Series description:
This series contains correspondence, invoices, and notes created during the publishing of the Student Showcase Journal and planning of the Student Showcase conference. Included in the materials are photographs published in the journals from 1986-1990.
