Series summary: Minutes of an administrative council responsible for college education programs in southcentral Alaska.

Administrative history:
The Southcentral Regional Center (SRC) was created in 1968 to operate and coordinate lower division, upper division, and graduate programs in the broader southcentral portion of Alaska: including Anchorage Community College, the Anchorage Senior College, and community colleges in Kenai, Kodiak, and Matanuska-Susitna area, as well as learning centers. This organization supplanted the Anchorage Regional Center. The chief executive officer of the SRC was the Provost who supervised the schools in the area and acted as liaison with the University of Alaska’s statewide administration. The SRC Council included the Provost, representatives from faculty, staff, the student union, and other administrative units within the SCR.

Agency functions:
Among other duties, the Council reviewed proposed curriculum and academic programs.

Series description:
The meeting minutes include the names of those in attendance, summaries of reports, and occasionally include course and program proposals brought to the Council for approval.
