Series description:
The contents of this series contain the day-to-day records created by the Athletics department from 1973-1987. The majority of the collection consists of administrative files of UAA Directors of Athletics that contain correspondence with UAA sports coaches, chancellor, administrators, and sports coaches from different university teams. It also contains team rosters, events and games schedules, sports scores, records related to NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) regulations, and records regarding the transportation to or the hosting of sporting events, such as The Great Alaska Shootout, First Interstate Classic, the Northern Light Invitational, and the Resurrection Bay Marathon. There are also booster club records and committee meetings notes and minutes, as well as the records of committees in which UAA Directors of Athletics participated. Two examples are the University Year of Action Program of which Lewis Haines was director and the Trail Committee that planned the trail system through Alaska Pacific University and UAA land in which Gene Templeton participated.
