The Archives was founded as part of the library in 1979.
Agency functions:
In 2016, the Archives began hosting a series of community events to gather photographic images of campus that might not otherwise be widely available for use. Image donors signed releases allowing the Archives to put the images online in Alaska’s Digital Archives and to duplicate them for further use.
Series description:
This collection consists of the digitized copies of the images given to the Archives as part of the Sharing Community Images project.
Arrangement: Image files were assigned photograph numbers based on the order in which they arrived at the Archives.
Digitized copies: All images have been placed online in Alaska’s Digital Archives. For information about obtaining further digital copies, please contact Archives and Special Collections.
Use restrictions: Copyright is retained by the original photographer. The Archives has permission to grant use rights.
