The Archives was founded as part of the library in 1979.
Agency functions:
The Archives acquires, preserves, and makes available to students, faculty, and the public unpublished documents, photographs, and information stored in non-print media. In addition to supporting the missions of the University and serving as the official archives for permanent University records, it performs a special service mission as community conservator of the papers and records of persons, families, organizations, associations, and businesses. Archives and Special Collections collects papers and records relating to the history of Alaska and the northwest Pacific area.
Series description:
This collection contains digital recordings and transcripts of UAA and APU students being interviewed by Archives’ staff and interns about their experiences on and off campus.
Arrangement: Audio files are numbered in the order in which they were created in the Archives.
Alternative formats: Transcripts are available for most recordings.
Digital materials: The digital contents of this collection are available online through Alaska’s Digital Archives.
