Organizational history:
Dixie Orsini was a long-time member of the Alaska Nurse’s Association (AaNA). After her death in 1984, her family and friends established a fund to support Fairbanks residents seeking nursing education. Ruth Benson acted as Trustee for the fun, the Fairbanks District 4 Board of AaNA served as a board for the fund, and the organization obtained non-profit status. The corporation was dissolved in 2011 and the remaining funds spent out on scholarships. The last scholarship was awarded in 2015.

The collection contains the records of the Aleyene “Dixie” Orsini Education Fund. The collection consists of non-profit status records, articles of incorporation, bylaws, financial records, applications for scholarships, and outreach materials.
