Biographical note:
Lucile Saunders Glafke was born in Portland, Oregon in 1911. She applied for permission to enter Alaska at Skagway in 1943 to join her husband who had been a resident of Alaska since 1935 and was working for Foley Bros. in Haines.
Collection description:
This collection contains one two-page document, Lucile Glaske’s application and permit to enter Alaska from the Western Defense Command. The application includes a photograph of Mrs. Glafke, fingerprints, physical description, information about her parents and husband, and information about her reason for entering Alaska. The permit was approved and notes that Mrs. Glafke was allowed to disembark at Ketchikan in December, 1943.
