Organizational history:
John P. Fay worked as the notarized secretary and lawyer for the Hubbard-Elliott Mining Company from 1898 to 1930. In 1930, John P. Fay bought the property from the Hubbard-Elliott Mining Co., which was later inherited by the Gould family.

Collection Description:
The John P. Fay papers include minutes of stockholder meetings from the Hubbard-Elliott Mining Company, Zarembo Gold Mining Co., and other companies in which Fay was involved; communications with stockholders regarding by-laws for the Hubbard-Elliott Mining Co.; pamphlets on several mining companies; materials from books on mining laws and geology; land deeds and claims; court documents; and federal correspondence regarding the Hubbard-Elliott Mining Co. The collection also includes material created by the Gould Family, relatives of John P. Fay, including photographs of the Fay property and correspondence with the National Park Service.

Arrangement: The collection is arranged in the order in which it arrived to the Archives.
