Biographical note:
Enid Stryker came to Alaska to teach in Ninilchik in 1920. She married Archie P. McLane in 1922, and in 1923, they were among the first wave of homesteaders in Kasilof. They had three children together. Their family homestead operated as the Loon Lake Silver Fox Farm until 1943. Enid continued to teach at Cohoe and then Tustumena until her retirement in 1964. Enid died in 1989 and Archie died in 1969.

Collection description:
This collection contains 18 black and white photographs depicting Susitna, Sitka, Anchorage, Palmer, and unknown locations in Alaska from circa 1910-1930. It includes images of men building a cabin on the Susitna Flats, a 1921 4th of July parade in Anchorage, an Anchorage dock and harbor, Fourth Avenue in Anchorage, men leaving Anchorage to go to World War I, the bore tide in Turnagain Arm, Denali, mountain goats in Sitka, downtown Palmer, and the Palmer High School. Photographers listed on the photographs include Sydney Laurence, Merl LaVoy, A.P. Hunt, and C.F. Peterson.
