Earth Resources Company (based out of Golden, Colorado) was a mining and refinery company active during the 1970s and 1980s.
Collection description:
This collection contains an envelope of two mining claim maps, handdrawn notes, and a mining claim location notice form. The maps show a mining region near Livengood and are dated to 1971. The envelope is addressed to a Mr. James W. Dalton in Fairbanks and is from the Earth Resources Co. in Golden, CO. Handwritten notes on the outside of the envelope read, “Chuck Herbert’s claim map” and describe the scale of the maps. The maps include information about how mining in the area is impacted by both the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.
