Biographical note:
A biography of the Walston family is unknown at this time. However, some pictures depict Clarence “Slim” Walston, who first moved to Alaska in 1941 and was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base. He owned Anchorage Propeller Service and piloted for Reeve Aleutian Airways for 31 years. He also received the Urban Design Award for the garden he kept at the corner of 6th Avenue and I Street in downtown Anchorage (possibly the one depicted in the collection). The Mrs. Feil listed in the captions is possibly Muriel Pfeil.
