Organizational history:
The Western Alaska Trading Company was originally organized in 1925 in Anchorage by C. P. Pedersen, W. H. Rager, and Victor C. Anderson. The company intended to purchase a power schooner for transport of local goods, primarily coal, to western U.S. ports and to transport goods back to Alaska. The company was dissolved in 1930.

The collection consists of a ledger containing the names of stock purchasers, the dates of purchase, the amount of stock, and the price.
Arrangement: The ledger entries are primarily chronological by date of purchase of stock.
