Biographical note:
Lena Smith was married to Roger Smith. The family were residents of Spenard at the time of the 1964 Alaska earthquake.

Collection description:
The letters were written by Lena Smith on behalf of her family to family members outside of Alaska. In them she talks about how the family and community are responding to the earthquake damage. The letters date between the end of March and June, 1964.

Arrangement: The letters are in chronological order.
