Biographical note:
Anne Nevaldine was born in Upstate New York in 1948. Nevaldine visited Alaska in the 1960s and moved there shortly after. She received a degree in Home Economics and later a Ph.D. in Psychology. Nevaldine also was a macro-photographer (taking extremely close-up photographs), and mostly took photographs of flowers and other plants. She was involved in various organizations, including the Master Gardeners, the Wildflower Garden Club, the Orchid Society, and the Native Plant Society. Anne Nevaldine died in 2018.

Collection description:
The collection contains photographs taken by Anne Nevaldine. Subjects of the photographs include flowers, plants, and trees; various animals, such as moose, birds, and dahl sheep; Denali National Park; gardens and greenhouses; cabins; flower and plant arrangements outside buildings and houses; kayak trips; vacations Nevaldine took out of state, including the Grand Canyon; and various locations in Alaska, including Anchorage, Copper Center, Seward, Whittier, Utqiagvik (Barrow), and Juneau. The collection also contains calendars created and published by Nevaldine.
