Organizational history:
The Chugach Conference was developed to write an agenda for the future of telecommunications in Alaska. Sponsors included the University of Alaska Anchorage, the University of Alaska Foundation, Alascom, IBM, and Alaska Telecom Inc. Participants included academics specializing in communications and computer systems, politicians, and representatives of corporate telecommunications interests.
Collection description:
The collection contains records created for and during the three Chugach Conferences held in 1989, 1990, and 1991. The collection includes programs for each conference and audio and video recordings of conference sessions.
