Organizational history:
Rage City Rollergirls (RCR) is the trade name of Anchorage Women’s Derby, Inc., an Alaska nonprofit corporation. RCR was founded in March 2007 by Heather McGee, Polly Carr, DeeAnn Apgar, and Lori Gage. They completed their first exhibition bout in May 2008. Rage City is a Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) League Member and is therefore governed by WFTDA rules. RCR has three home teams, the Sockeye Sallys, Dirty Polli’s, and the Devil’s Club. These teams play in intraleague bouts and in a championship tournament at the end of each season. RCR also has a team for their top skaters, Rage City All*Stars, and a team for their up-and-comers, Orange Crush.

Collection description:
The collection contains the records of Rage City Rollergirls. Included in the collection are promotional materials, such as posters, flyers, and handouts, as well as a scrapbook. The collection also includes an assessment checklist, WFTDA rules and guidelines, forms, attendance rosters, membership policies, a recruitment packet, patches, buttons, and membership cards. The collection also includes electronic records containing video of RCR’s bouts and season highlights.
