Biographical note:
Elroy Pitt came to Alaska searching for better job prospects in 1951, leaving his family in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He found work with the Alaska Railroad and brought his family to Anchorage in 1952. Pitt later worked as a diesel mechanic until he retired. He died in 1992.

Collection description:
The collection contains a temporary driving permit, driver’s licenses, and an Elmendorf Air Force Base Flight Line Pass.
