Organizational history:
The Anchorage Concert Association, a non-profit corporation, was founded in 1950 by a group of classical music enthusiasts committed to bringing classical performing artists to Anchorage.  The mission of the Association has expanded to include presentations of the spectrum of performing arts.

Collection description:
The records are primarily comprised of artist’s and production files relating to specific performances, artist photographs, newsletters, scrapbooks, posters and files representing the history of the Association.

Arrangement: The collection is divided into six series: administrative/historical files, artist files, newsletters, photographs, scrapbooks, and posters. Most series are arranged in chronological order.

Rights note: Materials in the collection are subject to copyright restrictions. Copyright to materials is not held by the Archives.

Acquisition note: A deposit agreement between the Anchorage Concert Association and the Archives was signed in 2006.  Records were transferred to the Archives between 2006 and 2007 with additions in 2011.

Processing information: This collection was described by Arlene Schmuland in 2010 and revised in 2012.

This series contains correspondence, notes, memos, clippings, and other materials related to the history and the administration of the Concert Association.

This series consists of files related to each individual performance done under the auspices of the Concert Association. Files may contain contracts, publicity photographs, advertising materials, programs, and other documents related to the production. Arranged chronologically by the date of the production. Some later files are color-coded to represent the type of production.
