Biographical note:
Warren A. Taylor was born in Chehalis, Washington in 1891. He graduated from high school in Bellingham, Washington and later moved to Alaska. While a resident of Cordova, Taylor was a fireman and locomotive engineer with the Copper River and Northwestern Railway from 1910-1922, though from 1917-1919, he served in the U. S. Army during World War  I.  From 1922-1934, Taylor was a deputy U. S. Marshal, after which he studied law and was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 1927.  He served as an assistant U. S. attorney from 1934-1939 and was a representative in the territorial Alaska legislature from 1933-1935. Taylor later also represented Kodiak (1945-1947) and Fairbanks (1949-1951, 1955-1967) in the Alaska Legislature. He also served on the Alaska Statehood Commission (1949-1959), was a delegate from Fairbanks to the Alaska Constitutional Convention (1955-1956), and ran for governor in 1962.

Collection description:
The collection consists of a photocopy of the Alaska Constitutional Convention scrapbook of delegate Warren A. Taylor. The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, three letters, a program from the signing ceremony for the constitution at College, Alaska, on February 11, 1956, and Warren Taylor’s name badge from the convention. The letters were written to Taylor from fellow delegates William A. Egan and Leslie Nerland, and Juneau Chamber of Commerce President A. F. Ghiglione.

Arrangement: The scrapbook is arranged in its original order.
