Biographical note:
The U. S. Army soldier who took these photographs appears to have been a member of the 528 Engineers Heavy Shop Company and the 36th Engineers Battalion, serving at Davis Army Air Force Base on Adak Island, Alaska, in 1948.

Collection description:
The collection consists of the photographs of a soldier in the 528th Engineers Heavy Shop Company who served at Adak in 1948. The collection contains: the original U. S. Army album cover; 54 black and white prints; and an Army Alaskan Command shoulder patch. Subjects of the photographs include: soldiers at the base on Adak Island; the sign for the 528th Engineers Heavy Shop Company and the 36th Engineers Battalion on Adak; the sign for the 97th Ordnance Service Company on Adak; soldiers at a U. S. Army training base for Company A of the 10th Infantry Regiment; and people in a residential neighborhood.

Arrangement: The photographs were retained in their original order.
