Biographical note:
Alexander W. Swanitz was a civil engineer for several railroad construction projects in the United States. He was a consulting engineer and later a chief engineer for the Alaska Northern Railroad. Mr. Swanitz died in 1915.
Collection description:
This collection consists of two copied letters from A. W. Swanitz to George Love of Valdez, Alaska. The first concerns business concerns and the second relates to construction of the Alaska Northern Railway and politics.
