Collection description:
This collection contains records created and used by AKPIRG. It is divided into two parts. Part 1 is comprised of the first deposit of AKPIRG materials that date from 1968 to 1980. It is divided into 5 series: operational and administrative files, subject files, legal files, clipping files, and publications. Series 1 contains operational and administrative files of the organization. Series 2 consists of subject files and is the largest part of the collection. Subject files contain research materials, correspondence, notes, and reports that are filed by subject or project. Legal files contain court cases, legal briefs, legislative bills, and depositions related to cases in which AKPIRG was involved or researching. In series 4 are clippings arranged by topic. Part 2 contains the unprocessed part of the collection that dates from 1972-2008. The bulk of the records are from the 1980s and 1990s. Similar to Part 1, Part 2 consists of operational/administrative papers, subject files, and news clippings.
