Biographical note:
H. H. Hildreth served as a Commissioner for the District Court at least until 1906 when requested to resign by District Court judge James Wickersham. Mr. Hildreth was a resident of Seward. He was also secretary of Matanuska Mining Company for a time.

Collection description:
The collection consists of a small diary covering a few months in 1907, a 1906 telegram from Judge Wickersham asking Hildreth to resign, some property deeds, mining claims and related records, and bank receipts. The mining claims are primarily coal claims, most from 1898, and are from many individuals. Mr. Hildreth may have been filing or keeping them on behalf of the claimants.

Arrangement: The collection was retained in the order in which it arrived at the Archives.
