Biographical note:
Some of the slides in this collection were either produced by or processed by Schallerer’s Photo in Ketchikan, Alaska. Others appear to have been created by Lloyd Morrison, but most are unidentified as to creator.

Collection description:
The collection contains 1,182 color 35mm slides. Subjects of the slides include: Anchorage; Banff; Bell Island and Bailey Bay; Ben-My-Chree and Mt. Fairweather; California; Columbia Glacier; Cordova; Glacier Bay; Guard Island; Haines and Juneau; Ketchikan; New England Cannery; Schallerer’s Photo Shop; Seward; Sitka; Skagway; Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia; Ward Creek, Ward Lake and Second Lake; White Pass and Yukon Railroad; Wrangell and Saxman; Annette Island; the Seattle World’s Fair of 1962; and various topical and unidentified materials.

Arrangement: The first section of the slides is divided by geographic location, many with transcribed notes that may have come from original labels with the collection. Those are followed by slides with dates, and the unidentified slides last.

Custodial history: This collection was given to the Sullivans by Lloyd Morrison, a former Alaska resident, sometime after 1992. Mr. Morrison had found the slides in a garbage dump while working in Alaska.

Acquisition note: The slides were donated to the Archives by the Sullivans in 2006.

Processing information: This collection was arranged and described by Jeffrey Sinnott in 2006. Updates were made to the finding aid in 2010 by Arlene Schmuland.
