Biographical note:
Otto W. Eggerman served in the U. S. Army in Alaska during World War II. H was a soldier in Company F, 2nd Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment.

Collection description:
This collection consists of a scrapbook of photos and photo postcards relating to Otto W. Eggerman’s service in the Army while in Alaska. The photos include images of Eggerman and his fellow soldiers, friends from home, buildings, equipment, and scenery. The postcards include popular tourist images of scenery, fishing, and wildlife.  The collection contains 44 black and white photos and 11 black and white photo post cards, most of which are unidentified, the original scrapbook cover, a xerographic copy of the scrapbook, and copy negatives of 17 of the photographs.

Arrangement: The collection was removed from the scrapbook and the collection has been arranged in the following order: the xerographic copy of the scrapbook, the scrapbook cover, photographs, and copy negatives.  Photographs have been arranged by size.

Alternative formats: The collection includes a xerographic copy of the album indicating the original order of the materials as well as copy negatives of 17 of the photographs.

Custodial history: The provenance and attribution of this collection are uncertain.  The scrapbook was purchased by a dealer from Otto W. Eggerman’s estate.
