Biographical note:
Kenneth J. Huseby was an Anchorage resident at the time of the Alaska earthquake of March 27, 1964.

Collection description:
The collection consists of 31 photographs collected by Kenneth J. Huseby of the damage of the 1964 Alaska earthquake in Anchorage, Portage, and Seward. Most of the photographs were taken by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. The photos depict damaged and destroyed buildings, sunken streets and houses, fallen trees, and other damage, and specific areas represented in the images include 4th Avenue, the J. C. Penney Building, L Street, West High School, Government Hill, Bootleggers Cove, the Turnagain neighborhood, a bridge on the Seward Highway, Portage, and Seward harbor.
