Biographical note:
Lawrence J. (Larry) Eastman served aboard the U.S. Coast Guard buoy tender Bittersweet in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Collection description:
The collection consists of three photograph albums of black and white prints. Most photographs were taken by Larry Eastman while aboard the Bittersweet, a Coast Guard buoy tender homeported at Kodiak, Alaska.  Subjects of the images include fellow servicemen, ships, ports, scenery, and work duties.

Arrangement: The albums are maintained in their original order.  Some loose sheets broken off from pages follow the albums.

Custodial history: In 2005, Larry Eastman gave the albums to his fellow Bittersweet veteran, Dave Bouker of Dillingham, Alaska.
