Organizational history:
Rabbit Creek Community Council is a civic organization that facilitates participation in local affairs by residents of the Rabbit Creek area, located in South Anchorage. The organization’s bylaws were ratified in 1988. Membership in the council is open to residents over 18, as well as representatives of businesses and organizations located within the boundaries of the Rabbit Creek neighborhood.

The Archives also holds the records of the Federation of Community Councils of Anchorage, HMC-0728, which include 2 files, primarily of meeting agendas, dating from 1993 to 1996 and 2002.
Custodial history: Prior to coming to the Archives, the records were in the possession of former Rabbit Creek Community Council board member Dianne Gudgel-Holmes.
Acquisition note: The collection was deposited in the Archives by the Rabbit Creek Community Council and a formal deposit agreement was signed by council president, Adam Lees, in 2017. Additions were made to the collection in 2022 by Dianne Gudgel-Holmes.
Processing information: The collection was arranged and folder level descriptions provided by Dianne Gudgel-Holmes. This collection was described by Gwen Higgins in 2017. The guide was updated by Arlene Schmuland in 2022 to reflect the 2022 addition.
