Biographical note:
Greg Gibbs was born in Arcadia, California, in 1961. He moved to Alaska in 1986 to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage and worked for the Consortium Library for several years. He was very active in local festivals and events. He married Robin Lee Baizel in 1994. They left Alaska in 2004 and moved to Reno, Nevada.
Collection description:
This collection primarily consists of Alaska related collector’s buttons accumulated by Greg Gibbs while in Alaska as well as other memorabilia. It includes materials related to the Fur rendezvous, Alaska State Fair, Renaissance Fairs, bowling, and other activities and events.
