Biographical note:
Virginia Terrill was born on December 12, 1906, in Meta, Missouri. She lived in Texas and California prior to moving to Alaska in the years before World War II. She worked for the Public Health Service and the Alaska Native Medical Center as a medical transcriptionist before retiring in 1981. Terrill was active in local community groups including the Libertarian Party, and served as secretary of the Anchorage Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Collection description:
This collection contains the personal papers and photographs of Virginia Terrill. Included are correspondence, insurance and employment files, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) correspondence and articles, Libertarian Party clippings and mailers, as well as photographs. Subjects of the photographs include WWII, Hawaii, Terrill’s family and dogs, the Jesse Lee Home, the Seward Sanitarium, and the Seward Hospital.

Processing information: This collection was described by Kathleen Hertel-Baker in 1998. The collection was converted to current standard by Veronica Denison in 2014.
