Biographical note:
Rick Mystrom was Mayor of Anchorage for two terms from 1994 to 2000. He moved to Alaska in 1972 and ran Mystrom Advertising from 1975 to 1990. He led several Anchorage Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games along with a variety of other civic engagement projects.
Collection description:
The collection consists primarily of scrapbooks created by Rick Mystrom’s staff members to document his two terms as mayor and his mayoral election campaigns. The scrapbooks include correspondence, clippings, flyers, pamphlets, photographs, and other documents related to his work. The collection also includes a transition guide written for mayoral candidates in 2000 detailing Municipality of Anchorage projects that had been completed or which were still underway.
