We have a special guest on this episode of Archiving AK — Neil C. Johannsen! Mr. Johannsen was the first superintendent of Chugach State Park and was the longest director of Alaska State Parks. He was central in the creation of many Alaska state parks, including Wood-Tikchik State Park (the largest in the country) and the Alaska State Marine Park System. The Archives holds Mr. Johannsen’s collection, which documents his storied 25-year career. You can view the collection description here.
We’re so thankful to Neil for stopping by and sharing his thoughts!
