Biographical note:
Biographical information on the creator is not available at this time. The Alaska Syndicate and then the Kennecott Copper Corporation mined copper in the Wrangell Mountains near the Kennicott Glacier from 1900 until 1938. The Kennecott Mines consisted of five main mines: Bonanza, Jumbo, Mother Lode, Erie, and Glacier.
Collection description:
This collection contains a single logbook noting the date, name of miner, and the amount of materials used in blasting. “Powder: Fuse and Caps No. 4” is written on the cover of the logbook. The dates run from October 18, 1914 to May 24, 1915. The logbook also notes bulldozing activities, car runs, and the amount of materials sent to other mines. The other mines named include Jumbo and Glacier, indicating this logbook is likely from another of the Kennecott mines.
