Biographical note:
Born in New Jersey, Arpad “Bruce” Magyar was a sales representative for the Upjohn Company when he came to Alaska in the early 1960s. He and his family lived in Anchorage while he traveled across the state for his job. The family lived in Anchorage for several years before he transferred out of state. He moved back to Alaska in his retirement.
Collection description:
The collection consists of materials related to the 1964 earthquake. It includes photographic slides and print materials used in presentations on the earthquake. The photographs show earthquake damage to Anchorage and to Kodiak.
