Biographical note:
James H. Arvanites was born in Goshen, New York in 1921. He served in the Air Force in Alaska as an armorer in the 18th Fighter Squadron between March 1943 and August 1945. He died in 2012.
Collection description:
The collection consists of photographic prints taken and collected by James Arvanites. Most of the photographs are labeled as having been taken on Attu, some are from Amchitka and a few from Anchorage. The photographs depict other servicemen, living quarters, recreation, airplanes, and ships.
Arrangement: The photographs are in the order in which they arrived at the Archives.
